Surfing and Dog Racing

2/13

Got up in the morning at 7:30 to go surfing with Angie, JD, Tracy, Mike and Mike Hab. We were running late to catch the bus (I hit snooze 3 times without even thinking about it) and it was raining- so we left a message at the surf school that maybe we could do it next week. An hour later I was informed that we were catching the next bus to Byron for a lesson because the surfing conditions were “perfect.” That’s what I call cold and raining don’t you?

Anyway, we took the lesson with Greg at Byron Bay Surf School. All of us got up but didn’t stay up too long. Not me anyway. The rip tide was horrible. You could barely stand in one place, let alone walk forward with your board. But we did learn the basics, and had fun doing it. It definitely wore us out though. They gave us ½ off surf board hire for another time because the water was so sucky.

We walked around Byron for a bit while we waited for the bus back home. I bought a cute little brown sundress for $10 AUD. Good deal.

Upon arrival at camp I showered, did some homework, and then it was off to the dog races for Sports Administration. I lost $10 bucks gambling.. oh peer pressure. But it was fun. Go “Ima Defastest!” Haha.

Came back, watched Miss Congeniality.

This is the group of us with our boards!

Out dog racing!

In front of the track..our dogs always lost.
