Hike to the Light House

2/3/07

We got up in the morning and went into town and got breakfast. I got a bacon and egg sandwich...that’s pretty popular here. Then we went shopping. I bought myself a belt...a gold high-waist one. And I also bought a ring...it is leather and has a turquoise and red flower. Its pretty awesome. It is also probably the first ring I've owned since like 4th grade. haha.

Then we went on the hike to the lighthouse. It was a bit over an hour, but we did it at noon- in the baking sun and it was pretty intense. There were lots and lots of stairs. I told Abby if it had been mom wanting to do it, the three of us girls would have whined so much about it....but because it was friends who wanted to...several of us just asked why we were… covertly. haha. But it was definitely worth it- so thanks to JD for making us all go.

The scenery was amazing and we saw lots of wildlife: dolphins, sea turtles, wild turkey things, a monitor (big lizard), I even held a crab. We went out to Australia's most eastern point and took a bunch more pictures.

After it was over I took a little nap and then went grocery shopping before boarding the bus. Getting home was a fiasco all its own... eventually we were home. Definitely got my walking in for the day.

I cooked myself some spaghetti for dinner, uploaded pictures to Facebook and then went to bed. Good weekend!
